It was in 2007 that Ubiwhere was founded based on one prime purpose: Drive change into the world by improving people’s lives. Ubiwhere works towards that goal every day, by focusing on the Research, Development and Innovation of software-based solutions in the areas of Smart Cities, Telecom and Future Internet, and New Technologies. The core of the company’s success is our skilled team, about 60 employees prepared to face the biggest challenges in the market, one of our differentiating factors in the field of innovative technologies.

We are committed to ensuring the best practices in quality management holding certifications such as ISO 9001 and CMMI-Dev and CMMI-SVC Level 3.

Last year, Ubiwhere officially launched a groundbreaking solution at Smart City Expo World Congress in Barcelona: the Urban Platform. It provides municipalities with a global and integrated view of their cities, presenting data from various domains, such as traffic, air quality and waste collection. Users can customize their dashboards by choosing information from any available source and combining it into different areas such as mobility and environment, with the ultimate goal of reducing operating costs, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and, as a result, improving the quality of life of its citizens.

Another strategic focus of Ubiwhere, in its continuous growth as a specialist in the field of Smart Cities, has been the Smart Lamppost (a consortium composed of Ubiwhere, PROEF and Metalogalva). As a modular concept of a lamppost with bleeding-edge technology, it allows municipalities to future-proof their Smart City and Mobile Network Operators to deploy their 5G solution cost-effectively. The pilot “Guimarães 5G Ready”, comes to determine Portugal’s first steps towards the emergence of an ecosystem of interconnected services.

In 2018, Ubiwhere had its most meaningful presence at Smart City Expo World Congress, where it was possible to demonstrate the company’s business expansion into international markets as well as its ambition to become a worldwide reference in Smart Cities. 2019 will be even better, join us in Barcelona in November!
